1. Argentina was colonized by Spain in 1516 until 1810 when the British took over. In 1880, they lost their colony to Uruguay after a war called the War of the Triple Alliance.

Argentina is not only the largest country in South America but also has the highest population than any other nation in the continent. There are over 40 million people that live in this vast territory, making it the third-largest country in terms of population size after Brazil and Russia. This population also speaks various languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French (both Haitian Creole and Brazilian), Italian, German, English, Dutch, Swedish, Hungarian, Russian, Polish and many others.
3. Most Argentinian foods are based off of European cuisine but some things were added like yucca, corn, tomatoes, chili peppers and cilantro.
4. There are no official numbers for how many people live in Argentina since the government doesn't track population statistics. But it's estimated that around 40 million people live in the country.
5. The city Buenos Aires has about 2.8 million inhabitants.
